The future looks more bleak than bright!
One would be tempted to confirm the statement based on the fact that 64% of people stated that they are often (28%) or sometimes (36%) worried about the future. Perhaps we should be wondering about the future of the future. Only 19% of respondents claimed that they were never apprehensive about the future.
This worry crops up more often among age groups right in the middle of the demographic strata (in the middle of life), whereas the age groups at both ends of the spectrum display a more positive attitude. Could it be because of responsibilities weighing down people in the 35 to 54 age bracket? Or perhaps it's due to the obligation to succeed in every aspect of their lives: in the family, as a couple, at work, and in social life.
One thing, however, is definite. People ranging in age from 65 to 74 years no longer seem to have these concerns, since more than 40% of them state that they never worry about the future. For this group, tomorrow is the here and now.
